We take most forms of credit/debit cards, cash, checks, and ACH payments through the bank. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not presently accept cryptocurrency or PayPal.

The minimum rental charge is one month.

Yes, we will extend a 10% discount.

We guarantee your rate will remain the same for at least a year. We do not employ a bait-and-switch pricing system, as do national operators.

Yes, you can transfer to a different unit anytime. We will prorate the amount paid on the previous unit and apply the credit to the new unit.

Guardian Self Storage does not provide insurance. However, we do recommend that the items within your unit be insured and have partnered with SafeStor Tenant Insurance for your convenience, which can, at your request, be added to your rental contract.

If you have renters’ or homeowners’ insurance, the items within your storage unit may already be covered. Please check with your agent for confirmation.

We ask for a ten-day notice. Please call, email, or write to us and advise of your move-out date. Importantly, when you have fully vacated your unit and the lock has been removed, please advise our office of the vacancy, and we will provide you with a closeout receipt.

Yes. We have a surveillance system that is actively monitored and is incorporated with our physical inspections.

Yes. Each location has its own live-in manager who is available in the event of an incident. Our managers work with our security companies to resolve any problems. The live-in manager also monitors the property to ensure the rules of the property are being followed.

Only customers and contracted workers have access to the storage facilities. Each customer has his or her own access code. The code is required for entry and exit. In the event of an incident, we can document who was on the property during a given period with access codes used and surveillance logs.

Yes. Hazardous materials, flammables and food are NOT permitted in the storage spaces or facility’s common areas. You can consult our ‘Rules & Regulations’ page by clicking HERE.

Drive-up units are named as such since they are located along the drive-aisle and are most easily accessible from your vehicle. Interior climate control or air conditioned spaces are inside the buildings where we are able to implement systems to help reduce humidity control. We recommend the interior units for long term household storage because of the addition of the ventilation system and air conditioning with dehumidifiers. However, many of our clients like the ease and convenience of the drive-up units.

Our aim is to maintain a range of 71 degrees to 78 degrees, depending upon the time of the year and the relative humidity levels. We have modified our air conditioning systems to operate at slower, constant speeds with the aim of reducing the humidity level rather than cooling the space.

In addition to the air conditioning system described above, we have added dehumidifiers to the storage area, working in conjunction with the air conditioning system to help further reduce the humidity level in the storage area.

We ask our customers to leave by 9:00 pm, and the security gates lock down at that time. In the event a customer is locked in after hours, call 808-245-1773 (Kalapaki) or 808-245-5333 (Puhi), and we will make arrangements to manually open the gates.

Yes. Each location has hand carts for customers’ use. At Kalapaki, we have carts at each elevator lobby. At Puhi, we keep a cart by each entry door in the building.

Sorry, we no longer rent trucks and sell moving supplies.
